It is time for our annual recycling drive! Recycling means taking a product at the end of its useful life and making it a usable raw material to make another product. We have been very succesful with paper and plastic products. Last year, we recycled more items than our previous three years. Let's try to do it again this year. We will have a dinner for everyone involved with the recycle drive on Saturday night. We hope to see you all there.
According to EPA (United States Enviromental Protection Agency) 34.3% of the itmes we discard are recycled. If we add the itmes that end combusted for energy, only half of our garbage make it to the land fills. This is not bad for the enviroment, but still much more can be done. According to the website ecocycle.org, recycling benefits not only the enviroment, but also the manufacuring indistry and the economy. This is only possible with help from people like you.
On Saturday 21,2016 and starting at 6:00 am, several Recycling Centers will be set up throughout the city. Feel free to bring your recycling items or volunteer to the closest one to home!
